Are people crazy? And yes, Tuesday is valentine’s day, but the frenzy to re-capture the essence of love is getting out of hand! We see the same tired old unimaginative gifts everywhere. Along the roadside and in the grocery store are sorry looking flowers in white buckets, potted plants, chocolates, heart-shaped everything; from pork chops to cookies, all shoved to the forefront. Radio floods us with their shop online, fast ordering; PJ grams, candy grams, teddy bear grams, all wrapped, and ready for “your special valentine.” There are books galore on who to love, how to love, and even what to love. However, the email I received today has taken things a bit too far.

Does anyone out there remember romantic valentine cards? Maybe even homemade with original verse that comes from the heart? AND…the card is for your flesh and blood love --- not to be confused with a “thing” or a techy device such as a smart phone or your computer. If I were sending my computer a valentine, it would probably say something like this:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
If you crash one more time,
You and I are through!
